Board of Trustees – Vacancy Notice – Representative for
Non-teaching College/University Employees
The OPERS and Ohio Deferred Compensation Boards of Trustees are seeking a non-teaching college/university employee representative. Ohio law mandates that an individual selected by the remaining members of the Boards of Trustees fill this vacancy.
To be considered for the non-teaching college/university employee position on the OPERS and Deferred Compensation Boards of Trustees, an individual must be an OPERS member currently employed in a non-teaching college/university position (beneficiary recipients, re-employed retirees, or disability recipients are not eligible) and agree to serve for the completion of this term that extends until Dec. 31, 2026. Please see the list of college and university OPERS employers below to confirm that you are employed in a non-teaching college/university position.

Non-teaching college/university employees will receive a letter providing more detailed application information. A job description is available by clicking the link below or by calling OPERS at 1-800-222-7377. Interested eligible non-teaching college/university employees should submit their names for consideration to OPERS, Attention: Eric Harrell, General Counsel, 277 East Town Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215, on or before 4:00 p.m. EST, February 14, 2025. Potential candidates should include a letter of intent acknowledging understanding of the duties and time involved and a current resume. After review by the current Board of Trustees, nominated applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview that will take place in March.

The OPERS Board of Trustees is entrusted with the oversight of all OPERS activities, which will help determine the financial futures of over 308,000 active members. The Ohio Deferred Compensation Board is the governing body for that program and is responsible for its administration and management.
